Soak up the atmosphere at Nic's Cafe

“I look forward to our customers becoming like family,” says Nicole Chiasson, owner of Nic’s Café in Old Town.

Nic's Cafe is warm, inviting and feels like home. Offering great coffee, teas, homemade baked goods, breakfast bagels and to-die-for meat pies, Nic’s Cafe is a cozy place to work, read, visit with friends or simply soak-up the atmosphere. And, while you’re enjoying your coffee and goodies, you can browse the quality used books.

Nicole purchased Nic’s Café in October 2017. The business was already established and Nicole was looking for an opportunity—the timing was perfect. And customers agree with comments like, “what a great little place with great music.”

The most popular orders at Nic’s Café are coffee, breakfast bagels, and the mouth-watering carrot cake. Not to mention one of the busiest days: pie day! “I would say our most unique item would be our meat pies. We make the pastry and filling from scratch,” says Nicole.

With the five year goal of “being a strong and thriving business in Chemainus,” Nicole’s positive attitude is contagious. She recently had a brain tumour removed and simply states, “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.”

In her (very little) spare time Nicole works on her own little piece of nature, eight acres on Thetis Island.

Drop by Nic’s Café and enjoy a warm drink, delicious treat and find the perfect book.
